Wristphones are more and more present on the cell phone market, which means that people are dead keen on such devices. If a couple of years ago they were spectacular gadgets that one could impress everyone with, today a wristwatch is something that you can easily find in the shop windows.
Following the footsteps of other companies that realized the interest that people manifest towards such devices, LG has just announced the GD910, a wristphone which is said to be “la pièce de résistance” at the Consumer Electronics Show, a trade show which is held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada (8 – 11 January, in 2009).
It was an inevitable apparition and I’m sure that was highly expected by the fans of the Korea-based company and it seems that the amount of features that the GD910 is equipped with won’t disappoint the most pretentious people on earth. Therefore, the latest LG device comes with a 1.43 inches LCD touchscreen, support for 3G and HSDPA technology, MP3 player, TTS (meaning Text to Speech), Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated camera placed on the face of the watch, being designed for video recording and conferencing. In addition, LG says that the HSDPA will help users download with speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps.
LG GD910 is expected to be presented at Consumer Electronics Show next month (which is supposed to be the official debut of this new wristwatch) and it is said to be released in Japan and Europe only. Unfortunately, there are no details yet about pricing and availability.
